Black-Letterhead 1.5

I’ve just released Black-Letterhead 1.5 which now includes gravatar support. The new theme will display gravatars or globally recognized avatars when visitors leave a comment on your blog. No more gravatar plugins needed.

I made some CSS style changes to fix the IE formatting issues in the comment section. IE and Firefox displays are now identical. I also updated the footer section to reflect the 2008 copyright.

I’ve decided to discontinue the use of Theme Toolkit in 1.5 to simplify maintenance of several versions of the code. If you still want to use the Theme Toolkit, it is still available for download in version 1.4.

    I love your template. I’m using it on my personal blog. Can you explain to me how I can make the text that is running over my face in the heading move higher so it’s not blocking my face?

  2. i, too, sat up when i saw your template. i’m new at this and i’m wondering about replacing my site entirely with a blog. the site’s a pain to update. i’ve been browsing templates and usually underwhelmed, until yours.

    i’m an animation filmmaker so i’d need to link to lots of movies and to still art, and have bits of info. so less emphasis on writing than most blogs.

    any advice on tutorials, or other blogs that have similar aims?

  4. Charlie, If you need help with your blog setup, let me know. I’ve setup others using different themes. Your site can be easily be converted to a blog.

  7. Really like the theme, just wondering how I can add an image to the header? I just want to insert a logo to the left of the Header text

    Place your 760x200px header image in the theme folder. Edit style.css and place this code.

    #header {
    background: #000000 url(‘header.png’) no-repeat;
    }

  10. Hello, i got a question about the © of the Black-LetterHead theme.

    I’m allowed to tweak it as much as i want to tune my blog without any problem ?
    (mostly fonts and fonts colors)

    First of all, I love this wordpress theme, it’s fantastic!

    I’m new to CSS (and wordpress), and I have a question. Is there a way to edit the CSS so only the excerpt of a post appears on the page, with a link to the rest of the post?

    Yes, there is a way to display excerpts instead of whole post. You can read all about it from WordPress Codex. Here is the link. It’s about using the_excerpt() instead of the_content(). Hope that helps.

    I’m a 110ù beginner in blog editing and my questions might be a little “simple”…
    First, is this theme compatible with wp 2.6 version ?
    I couldn’t install a RSS widget : il it a limitation of the theme or a problem with my use of wp ?

    Regarding your question.. Upsss… it seems that I haven’t investigated the RSS question enough.. . I have just tried to drop the RSS widget in the box… I will look at this question of plugin…
    May be your can help telling ma where to look at that ? (but I understand it has nothing to do with your theme !!!)

    I discover a little trouble with wordpress 2.6.1 and Black-Letterhead 1.5
    When you use the new ‘add media’ to insert a picture, and fill the field ‘caption’ the caption appear very light, almost the same color of background of the caption.

    I have to locate where to change this css.

    Sorry i got it :

    in the style.css of wordpress :
    .wp-caption p.wp-caption-text
    adding a color : #ff0000 ; do the trick.

    I’m running my site with version 1.3 and i’m now having a look at this new version. I can’t find anymore the iption windows where was possible to set the width, and other parameters like colors etc. Is there any way to remove the tags list?

  26. I am trying to center pictures within my posts. The image information tells me that they are set to be centered, but when I update and go to the blog, they are not.

    I have searched the WordPress site for help and the two small changes in the style sheet they suggested did not work.
