All it takes is 16 hex numbers to unlock every HD-DVD that’s made available to date. Changing encryption keys will not solve the problem. Replacement keys can be rediscovered easily. Plus, changing keys just makes it worst since it will make new movies unviewable with the current HD-DVD players. The newly uncovered hack needs an ID to work. Making the IDs random is just a stopgap measure. IDs are relatively easy thing to figure out. I’m not sure what AACS (Advance Access Content System) will do next. Start from scratch?
