Surfing the net contains no sharks, no rocks, no wipe outs, no drowning and no risks of hitting your head on your surfboard. But, surfing the internet is not entirely a secure experience. As a rule of thumb, never make any online purchases or access your banking account when online on a public hotspot. Anyone with a monitoring software can view an unsecure wireless network. PCmag.com has an article about online security. It’s nothing you don’t already know, but it just reinforces the wild side of public hotspots.
