For a measly $8,000 a year, school administrators should concede in giving the striking Hayward teachers what they deserve — a raise. Hayward teachers are the lowest paid in comparison to neighboring Union City and Fremont. School administrators should reach deep into the pockets to give the teachers the break because this is a good investment for the benefit of young children. We need quality teachers to raise the level of quality of education here in California.
