The US Soccer Mens National Team played a scrimmage against the UCLA Bruins on Sunday, January 27th in preparation for their friendly against Mexico’s National Team on February 7. The game versus Mexico will be held in the University of Phoenix Stadium where it’s expected to be a pro-Mexican crowd. Against the Bruins, the US scored 3 goals early in the first half, but surrendered 2 penalties in the second half. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the US Mens National Team.

The US team better shape up because Mexico is a much, much improved side. I can’t wait to see this friendly, but I already know it will not be a friendly. It will be a hard fought game to say the least. This is rivalry is intense. I would like to see some US European-based players called up for this game since it looks like Mexico is calling up all their European-based players. If the US go with domestic players only, it will not be a good showing for the USA. Not even close. The US has to keep this streak going. I can’t wait to see this game.
