Snowboarding Stories
Just got back from my snowboarding trip last night. My first run on the slope was interesting. I usually start with a beginner trail to get my feet wet so to speak. Looking back, maybe I should have just skipped it and gone with the intermediate runs right away because I fell twice on the rock hard packed snow at Sierra at Tahoe. The first fall wasn’t too bad which was on my front side. The second fall was the worst, landing on my tail bone and banging my head on the snow.
It’s a good thing I was wearing a helmet. And I wasn’t even going that fast. So, the tail bone is a little sore today. And the rest of the runs (all blues and one black one) was just fine. A couple of falls, but nothing as hard as the beginner run. It just shows you, beginner runs are dangerous.
By the way, we were supposed to go snowboarding at Kirkwood, but it was closed due to high winds. Our second option was to go to Heavenly, but we decided last minute to head down to Sierra at Tahoe. It was a good choice because we learned later, Heavenly was closed as well.
