Filezilla

I’m moving up in the world. I’ve just downloaded Filezilla, an FTP client. Previously, I have been using (everyone laughing in unison) WS_FTP95. That’s the Windows 95 version. I never had the desire to use the latest version of WS_FTP since the Windows 95 version still works with Windows XP SP2. The reason I stuck with WS_FTP95 because it was free and it served my purpose. I never had any problems with it. The only annoying feature with WS_FTP95 was it left logs and indexes all over the place. I turned off logging and I never had any problem since.

Filezilla is a small file to download. The installation was uneventful and the application is very simple to use. I was able to login to my server without any problems. I transferred a small file to the server and vice versa with no incidents. The software is very intuitive and easy to use. I still love my WS_FTP95 client, but I’ll play around with Filezilla for the time being. There’s hope for change. Maybe old habits can die.

  1. LOL man … yeah you need to get with it man. FileZilla is an awesome FTP app though. Probably the best free, open source FTP app out there.

  2. I should probably donate a few dollars to the creator of WS_FTP95. Talking about using the full extent of a product’s life. Some of the best things in the world are free. Amen to that.
