Argentina - Germany

Germany wins. Wow, what a match! Germany pressed hard early. Argentina players were incredible in controlling the ball in tight places. Argentina scores first on Roberto Ayala’s header off a corner. Klose equalised in in the 80th minute to even the score at 1-1. After two 15 minute halves, both teams even at 1-1. On to penalty kicks. Germany’s keeper Jens Lehman comes out big by saving two Argentinian kicks by Ayala and Cambiasso. Germany kickers made all four of their kicks. There was no Messi and Saviola. No doubt, Jose Pekerman’s moves will be questioned by taking out Riquelme early and not bringing in Messi into the game. When Abbondazieri went down with an injury, Pekerman was forced to make a goalkeeping change. It was a great match. A classic. I feel bad for Argentina because they were clearly the better team. Just bad coaching in my opinion. I would have brought in Messi. Who knows Argentina may have won with him on the field. Germany were better in penalty kicks.
