Germany 4 - Wanchope 2. Oh, my Ticos lost 4-2 to hosts Germany even without Michael Ballack. The Germans scored four goals and non in the air. Beautiful goals from Philip Lam who put the ball in the upper 90 and Frings who had the goal of the match when he sealed Germany’s win with the fourth goal. Frings sent a bending ball with the outside of his foot away from the outreach arms of Porras, the Tico keeper. The Germans came out flying from the gitgo. It seemed the Germans were on overdrive and Ticos were on second gear. The German defense looks a little bit shaky at times. Twice the German offside traps failed and resulted in Costa Rican goals. The second goal by Wanchope looked like it was offside. The Ticos defense and goalkeeping made a couple of mistakes which allowed the Germans to score. It’s a good start for the Cup with six goals. Let’s keep the goals coming because I want to see an entertaining World Cup.
