USA Beat Angola 1-0

The USA Mens National Team defeated Angola today in a closed session near Hamburg, Germany. The scrimmage is the last tune-up game for both teams before the World Cup begins. Forward Brian McBride scored for the United States who wore non-standard uniforms without any numbers. Angola played majority of the match with just 10 players after two yellow card accumulation was shown to Loco. US backup goalkeeper Tim Howard played in the latter half of the match.

There is very scant details about this game. US Coach Bruce Arena has been very secretive about the US strategy. Arena has used three different formations and used most of his 23-man roster in the last three friendlies against Morocco, Venezuela and Latvia. Clearly, the US coach does not want to tip his hand to the Czechs, Italians and Ghanians. It would be interesting to see who would start and what formation will Arena use for the first game against the Czech Republic.
