Toshiba 200 Gb Hard Drive
Toshiba has achieved to pack in 200GB (a record) into a 2.5 hard drive using the perpendicular magnetic recording. The Serial ATA II drive has 8 MB of buffer memory, an access time of 12 ms and employs two platters and four heads. The drive is called MK2035GSS, but it will not be available until late August. Toshiba did not mention the price of the units. My guess is that it will probably be expensive at gitgo. I’ll say wait for several months. When competition stiffens up, the price will come down.
