NFL Draft 2006

Surprise, surprise. Reggie Bush wasn’t the number one pick after all. That distinction goes to defensive end Mario Williams. He goes to the Texans for the number one pick overall. With the number two pick, the New Orleans Saints selected Reggie Bush. Vince Young goes to the Tennessee Titans with the third pick. The New York Jets picked D’Brickashaw Ferguson. Green Bay picks AJ Hawk.

The Niners are on the clock with the number six pick. Who will it be? Will it be Vernon Davis like everyone else is saying? Will the Niners go for offense? Or will the Niners trade down the pick? The Niners seem to be taking all the alotted fifteen minutes given for each team. Something is brewing. Maybe, a trade. Still waiting and waiting.

It’s now official. The Niners selected tight end Vernon Davis, a freakish monster tight end. Unbelievable speed and great hands. Oh yea, he can block, too. If you are a 49ers ticket holder, better renew. It’s going to be exciting watching this guy play. The only question is can Alex Smith get him the ball. Vernon Davis is good news for Niners fan.

Later in the first round, the 49ers picked up defensive end Manny Lawson who will be converted to outside linebacker to play in the Niners 3-4 defensive scheme.
