I Hate Politics
I could be one of a few American citizens who don’t get caught up in the moment. I scoured the political blogs after the State of the Union Address tonight and it was very depressing to see the great divide between the two parties.
Cloture
I learned a new word today, Cloture. And I thought it was a typo. Cloture is a procedure used in Congress to end a filibuster. Congress voted today 75-25 to end a filibuster in the appointment of Judge Samuel Alito to the US Supreme Court.
Exxon Mobile Record Profits
Exxon Mobile posted a record profit for any US company today. The company made $10.71 billion from last quarter and $36.13 billion dollars from last year 2005. Exxon with the ticker symbol XOM was up today at $1.82 or 2.97% at $63.11 per share.
Alan Greenspan
Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan will call it quits tomorrow. The 80 year old has serve as Chairman of the Federal Reserve for the last 19 years. Interestingly enough, Mr. Greenspan is expected to raise interest rates one more time before he retires.

I seem to be changing WordPress themes every couple of months or so. Now, I’m back to the Black-Letterhead theme designed by none other than yours truly. I’ve made a few modifications to the theme.
Texas Hold ‘Em
I have been playing quite a bit of Texas Hold ‘Em lately. I’ve noticed that the more I play, the better I get. I currently have $4,500 on my account while playing on the $250 limit table. Relax. It’s not real money. I bought this Poker computer game.

I found a Wireless USB Network Adapter at Fry’s Electronics for just $10.00. So, I bought two of them. It’s from a company called Airlink. The adapter operates on USB 2.0 specification and works in both 802.11 b and g networks.
Calming Nerves When Public Speaking
Interesting study from University of Paisley in Scotland. They’ve determined that having sex before speaking in public calms the nerves. Researchers have discovered that volunteers who had sex were the least stressed and had lower blood pressure. It could probably apply to a whole lot of activities. How accurate is this study?
