If you invest in technology, here’s a list of companies you should add to your watch list: Qtopia, Monta Vista and Wind River Systems. These are companies that provide linux platforms for consumer products.
Examples of gadgets already using Linux are Tivo’s line of personal digital video recorders, cell phones, cable boxes from Panasonic and Motorola, of course the most notable of all, the PlayStation 2 by Sony. HP, Motorola, Volvo and other car manufacturers are now beginning to introduce products based on the Linux operating system. The future looks bright for Linux and perhaps these companies.
