Wireless on Planes
FCC has approved high speed internet access on commercial airplanes by 2006. Cool, but I doubt it will be free. I remember when air phones first came out. Making a call at 32,000 feet was about $2 per minute. I don’t know what the rates are now.
Online Coffee shop!
No, not Starbucks. It’s Paddy’s in Union City. Buy a cup of coffee, I had chai and you get free internet access. The owner seems like a nice guy. I just opened my laptop and he offered me the security code to get to net. Sweet! He deserves a plug, don’t you think?
Minor Accident
An older lady backed in into my car with a big Ford e-350 van last Friday. No contest. My car’s driver-side quarter panel near the rear bumber is crunched in, the bumper bent out of shape, and not a scratch on the van. I own a Toyota Camry which is built like a tin can. [...]
Jury Duty
Today, I was called up for jury duty. My first call in 4 years. I left the house a bit late, little worried due to my misconception that if you are late, they’ll put you on the jury. I pulled into the parking structure well past 9:00am. Of course, there was a line of cars.
Website Redesign
I just re-designed this website. It has a slightly different look and feel, but still the same color scheme. If you hate red, you’ll love this site. Notice, there is no content on the home page. This is my new scheme to improve website performance.
TV Tuner
I just bought an ATI USB TV Tuner and it rocks. I can now watch TV on my laptop or any other desktop with a USB port. Just install the software, connect to a TV antenna or cable and that’s it. A small TV screen will show up on your screen.
Toastmaster Database
I have been working/learning PHP this past year. One of my php projects is the creation of the Toastmaster Database. Being a member myself for several years, I came up with the idea of creating a database after visiting several web pages of other clubs.
Good Steroids?
Are steriods getting a bum rap? Anabolic steriods may have dominated the airwaves recently, but other type of steriods may be getting treated unfairly. Actually, other steriods have benefits to society. To some people, steriods are invaluable, a life saver.
