Olympic Scandals
Let’s think into the future, maybe the 3002 Olympics. What’s grabbing the headlines? You would think it would be a sub 8 second 100 meter run. Maybe an eye popping 40 foot pole vault.
Maybe, a 50 foot long jump. Who knows? Two things that I know will linger for a very long time in the sport of the Olympics, it’s judging controversy and doping. What would the Olympics be without the drama of judges making mistakes and athletes trying to cheat the games.
The games was created to foster competition, but not everyone involved is fair. It goes with the judging and the athletes themselves. If you ever wonder how training, techniques and drugs have changed the sport. Just look at the highlight reels 50 years ago. Compare those athletes with today’s athletes.
The athletes of today are bigger, stronger and have greater endurance. It is scary to think how athletes would look like in 100 years from now. The Olympics without controversy and doping just would not be the same. Let the games continue!
