Open Water
If there’s one film I am not rushing out to see, it’s called “Open Water.” It’s about a couple who went on a scuba diving tour only to surface abandoned by the tour boat. They spend hours battling the reef sharks. It’s a true story. I already know the ending.
They come out of it alive to tell the story and make this movie. I don’t plan to see it unless someone drags me. The main reason I don’t want to see it because I am a surfer. I spent countless hours in the water and sometimes in the open ocean.
It’s scary enough to go out sometimes. I don’t want to inject any more images in my mind and be freaked out everytime I go out. This usually happens on smaller days, when there not enough waves to occupy most surfers.
You have all this time, and your mind starts to wander and start playing tricks on you. “Open Water.” I am sure it is a wonderful movie. Go see it, but not for me.
