Ipod Rescues Apple

IpodIs it accurate for me to say the Ipod product has rescued Apple? It may not be an entirely accurate statement, but it does have its merit. Apple could and would have survived without the Ipod, but it would not be as good a company.

The Ipod product has single-handedly taken Apple out of its post-Macintosh doldrums. It has brought back some swagger to the company. It hasn’t hurt stock prices either. Ask any Apple employee if the company is better off without Ipod. I am 100% sure, they would rather have the Ipod in their product line.

Lesson in history! Certain companies can re-invent themselves and continue to make innovative products, therefore keeping the cash flow going, while other companies I know are literally stuck and going nowhere. What helps Apple and the Ipod product is the ITunes service.

Apple took early action in a very lucrative music business. Apple not only recognized technological changes early, but understand customer needs.
