Giants vs. Dodgers
There’s nothing like the Giants-Dodgers rivalry especially when both teams are in contention for the division lead. Mind you, it’s only June. For the second straight day, both teams were involved in a bench clearing shuffle, although no punches were thrown, but two players were ejected for being too aggressive.
Eric Gagne and Michael Tucker were thrown out of the game in the 8th inning last night. Tucker was involved for the 2nd straight night. Tucker collided with another Dodger pitcher the night before which cleared both benches.
So, what happened? Eric Gagne was pitching in the 8th inning to get some work done since he never had a chance to pitch the entire series. Tucker was on the batters’ box, the Dodgers knowing full well what happened the night before, decided to send a little message.
The pitch was high and tight. Tucker hit the deck. According to the Dodgers, Tucker over-reacted and should have gotten an Emmy. To the Giants, it was payback from the night before.
It is going to be an interesting series next week when the Giants visit the Dodgers for a 3 game series. The Giants just concluded a 4 game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers and have overtook the National League West Division by 2.5 games. Coming into the series, the Giants were down by 1.5 games.
