49ers Losses
This off-season has been painful to a lot of 49ers fans due to too many players lost. Over the years, Niners superstars were lost before the end of their careers due to one reason or another.
These players still had good years left in them and could have contributed to the Niners success. Here’s a list of Niner players and coaches missed most by 49ers fans over the years. The Players: Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, Charles Haley, Roger Craig and now Terrell Owens.
The Coaches: Bill Walsh, George Seifert and Steve Mariucci, and of course the owner, Eddie DeBartolo.

Honorable mentions are: Ed McCaffrey, Ted Washington, and Wesley Walls. All were Pro-Bowl players for their successive teams. McCaffrey had productive years with Denver’s run to the Super Bowl.
Washington was a mainstay with the Bears and Patriots before signing with the Raiders this off-season. Walls was never given a chance behind Brent Jones, but became a Pro Bowl player with Carolina.
